Inspired by Jay Schafer and his original Tumbleweed, Cranmore Meadows founders Callie & Nathan built their first tiny house themselves from custom plans over 18 months starting in 2015.
They’ve been living full-time in the 8′ × 20′ Polaris tiny home for 6 years, have moved it twice, and in 2018 purchased a 30-acre nature preserve in the lovely North Carolina Piedmont to found a permanent tiny house residential community called Cranmore Meadows so other folks could live tiny safely and legally. Phase 1 was completed in October 2021 featuring 7 lots and Phase 2 will be complete in spring 2023 with 6 more. Since then, they constructed a 2000SF on-site warehouse with a 14′ roll-up door and have built 2 more tiny homes.
