Are these plans compatible with off-grid living?

Can I see a sample plan before purchasing?

Yes, we can provide a preview of our plan format. Reach out to us to request a preview.

Can I customize the plan?

All our plans can be highly customized from an aesthetic standpoint. Paint colors, flooring types, wall cladding, countertops, cabinets, etc. are all things that can be changed to best suite your needs.

Structural changes like window and wall placements, dimensions, etc. should all be done through a local engineer or architect.

What’s included with each plan?

Each plan set includes detailed blueprints, a DIY Tool Guide, and a complete Material List for easy building.

Below are some of are common questions about plans and designs

Can these plans be permitted?

Yes, our plans are designed to the IRC code however each state/city/county will have it's own requirements so adjustments to meet your local code will likely be needed.

In order to use any plans purchased through us, you agree to retain and consult with a local engineer and/or architect to ensure that all structural elements meet the local codes and requirements and to confirm that local conditions are addressed. You also must agree to the Terms and conditions listed on our website.

Can I modify the plans to better suit my needs?

Yes, you are free to modify the plans as needed but structural integrity must be addressed with each modification. We highly recommend hiring a local architect and engineer to make any changes to your plans. All changes are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

How many times / how many tiny homes may I build from your plans?

All of our tiny house plans come with a single license to build one small home. If you would like to build more than one, please contact info@tinyhouseplans.com. We are happy to establish a multi-use license with you.

Will the building department give me permission to build my tiny house with these plans?

Because regulations vary not only state to state but also county to county and city to city, we truly have no way of guaranteeing what your local building department will say. It’s up to you to do your due diligence if you are following a legal pathway.

Often times small adjustments will need to be made to abide by your local jurisdiction code requirements.

That said, our plans are designed to the IRC code and having a set of professional plans will certainly benefit you if you go through an application process.

I can't decide whether to buy the digital or the printed plans.

Both options have their benefits! Digital plans are instantly accessible and easy to view on any device, allowing for quick reference and printing of individual pages.

If you purchase Printed plans, you'll not only get the digital downloads but also be provide a durable, ready-to-use set that’s convenient to have on-site.

Are these plans suitable for DIY builds?

Yes! Our plans are designed with DIY builders in mind, complete with guides and material lists to simplify the process.

How long does it take to get my plans?

For digital plans, you'll get them instantly right after purchase!

If you purchase the Printed version, you'll get the instant digital plans as well as a printed copy shipped to you in 5-7 business days.

How many times can I download the plans after purchasing?

You can download the complete plan set and resources 5 times. Need more? Not to worry, simply go to contact us and provide your order number and email address and we'll get you additional downloads. Easy peasy!

Do you offer support during the building process?

Absolutely! We’re here to answer questions and provide guidance to help make your build successful.

How long does it typically take to build a tiny home from these plans?

Build time varies based on experience, plan complexity, if it's DIY or contracted out, and available help, but most builds take between 3-6 months.
